Premenstrual syndrome (PMS) is a common condition experienced by adolescent girls and may affect their quality of life. This study aimed to analyze the differences in nutritional adequacy level, sleep quality, and stress level between PMS and non-PMS groups, as well as to analyze the relationships between these variables and the severity of PMS symptoms. This study used a case-control design involving 128 female students living in the IPB dormitory, consisting of 64 PMS subjects and 64 non-PMS subjects. Data on dietary habits during the last month were collected through interviews using the Semi Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ) via Zoom Meeting. Data were analyzed for normality using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, the Mann-Whitney test for differences, and the Spearman correlation test. The results of the analysis showed that sleep quality and stress levels were significantly different between the PMS and non-PMS groups (p<0.05), whereas nutrient adequacy levels were not significantly different (p>0.05). Sleep quality (p>0.05) and stress levels (p>0.05) were significantly associated with the severity of PMS symptoms, whereas nutrient adequacy levels were not significantly associated with the severity of PMS symptoms (p>0.05). Further research is recommended to compare female students living in dormitories and those living outside dormitories or between female students at different campus locations to observe differences in dietary intake between groups with more contrasting characteristics.
