      Abstract

Chronic kidney disease (CKD) is characterized by a decline in kidney function lasting more than three months. Diet may influence CKD progression by promoting or reducing inflammation. The inflammatory potential of the diet can be assessed using the Dietary Inflammatory Index (DII). This cross-sectional study aimed to analyze the relationship between DII score and estimated glomerular filtration rate (eGFR) in 51 CKD patients at Jakarta Islamic Hospital. Dietary intake was assessed using a structured Semi-Quantitative Food Frequency Questionnaire (SQ-FFQ), while serum creatinine data were obtained from medical records. Most participants were female (56.9%), aged <60 years (64.7%), had completed high school (45.1%), were unemployed or housewives (51.0%), and had normal nutritional status (39.2%). The mean DII score was 2.50 ± 1.70, and 94.1% of participants had a proinflammatory diet. The median eGFR was 4.8 mL/min/1.73 m², with 80.4% of participants classified as stage 5 CKD. No significant association was found between DII score and eGFR (p = 0.104).
