dc.description.abstractThe objectives of this study were to analyze life style and incidence of metabolic syndrome among obese male employees in PT. Indocement Citeureup. The cross sectional design was applied in this study, with purposive sampling involving 59 male obese employees selected by inclusion criteria. As much 49.15% sample has metabolic syndrome with the highest prevalence of metabolic syndrome marker was central obesity (96.55%), followed by hipertriglyceridemia (82.76%), low level of High Density Lipoprotein (HDL) (72.41%), high level of fasting blood glucose (62.07%) and hypertension (55.17%). There is no significant difference in proportion of metabolic syndrome incidence according to age, history of obesity, smoking habits, excercise habits, physical activity level and eating behavior (p>0.05). High consumption of cigarettes significantly correlated (p<0.05) with lower diastolic blood pressure and greater abdominal circumference. Unhealthy eating behavior also significantly correlated with lower level of HDL cholesterol, while snacking behavior correlated with high level of fasting blood glucose (p<0.05).en
