Keterkaitan Kecukupan Vitamin A Ibu, Praktek Pemberian Air Susu Ibu dan Kelengkapan Imunisasi Dasar dengan Morbiditas Bayi
Abstract
Vitamin A has an important role for health to keep normal function of immune system. Therefore, insufficiency of vitamin A on lactating women is associated with infant morbidity. The study was aimed to analyze correlation of maternal sufficiency of vitamin A, exclusive breastfeeding practices and immunization completeness with infant morbidity. This cross sectional study was conducted in four village at Gurah Subdistrict, Kediri District with 31 samples were included. The data of maternal’s food consumption, exclusive breastfeeding practices, immunization completeness and infant morbidity were collected by interview and data of nutritional status was collected by measurement of body weight and lenght. Maternal sufficiency of vitamin A were 58% sufficient and 42% insufficient. There was 68% of infants suffered of diseases, i.e. respiratory disease, fever, diarrhea. Higher maternal vitamin A sufficiency tend to corellate with shorter period of infant’s illnesses. Meanwhiele, exclusive breastfeeding practices tend corellate with with shorter period and lower frequency of illnesses of infant.
