      Abstract
      The study aimed to analyze corelation between dietary fiber and water intake with defecation pattern among elementary school students. The number of samples in this research as much as 527 students with a range of ages 9−13 years old. The average dietary fiber intake as much as 12.4 g/d. The average water intake as much as 1086 ml. The average frequency of bowel movements as much as 6 times/week with the consistency of the stool according to Bristol Stools Chart categories include into normal (type 3 and 4). There were 8.5% subject had hard stools (type 1 and 2) and 8.3% subject had watery stools (type 5−7). There were 22.2% of subject who experience pain when defecating and as much as 18.0% of subject complained of difficult bowel movements. Based on BMI/A and H/A index, sample had normal nutritional status. Based on correlation test, there was a significant correlation between fiber intake with stool frequency and consistency of stool (p<0.05). However, there was no significant correlation between fiber intake with painfulness when defecate, water intake with stool frequency, consistency of stool and painfulness when defecate,fiber and water intake with constipation (p>0.05).
