dc.description.abstract | Damaged of physiological function and anatomy of lung are signs of lung disease patients, including restriction and obstruction. Both restriction and obstruction are irreversible and resulted in breathlessness and oxygenation degression. Oxygenated water provides extra oxygen, shown by elevation of blood oxygen saturation (SaO2) of lung disease patients. Provision of oxygenated water was conducted for 21 days by measuring the changes of MDA level and SGOT/SGPT status of 16 lung disease patients. MDA level was measured by TBARS method principle and SGOT/SGPT status was measured by IFCC method. This research was conducted by approval ethical clearance and informed consent. This research showed that drinking oxygenated water lowered MDA level from 5.87±1.00 nmol/ml to 5.21±1.34 nmol/ml but it didn’t give significant change (p>0,05) by t-student test. This result showed that oxygenated water didn’t lead to increase oxidative damage. Furthermore, drinking oxygenated water lowered SGOT/SGPT status from 50,5625±14,7239 / 41,3125±12,4242 U/L to 35,4375±10,5575 / 24,3750±8,2855 U/L and it gave significant changes (p<0,05) by t-student test. The decrease of SGOT/SGPT status showed that oxygenated water can improve the condition of their liver | en |
