dc.description.abstractThe objective of this research was to examine the relationship between consumption of snacks, hygiene and sanitation with morbidity and nutritional status of primary school children. The research design was a cross sectional, and subjects were 88 children of 5 th grade students (10-12 years old). The habit of eating snacks was collected through Food Recall 2x24hours. The results showed that most students had a good level of nutrition knowledge category (54.5%), and as many as 78.6% of food vendors had relatively less knowledge about nutrition. A total of 53.4% of students classified as frequent snacks. Most students had a normal nutritional status 67.0% with low morbidity category (44.3%) and moderate (35.2%). Based on Pearson correlation test there was no significant relationship between knowledge of nutrition and food security pocket with frequency (p=0766 ; r=-0032) and the showed that number of snacks (p=0.253 ; r=-0123). Spearman correlation test results there was a significant relationship between knowledge of nutrition and food security and nutritional status (p=0.039 ; r=0.221). There was a significant relationship between energy snacks consumption and nutritional status (p=0.038 ; r=0.614) and morbidity status (p=0.040 ; r=0.714). There was a significant relationship between protein snacks consumption and nutritional status (p=0.041 ; r=0.525) and morbidity status (p=0.036 ; r=0.308).en
