dc.description.abstractThe high prevalence of stunted children in Indonesia (35.6%), especially in Bogor Regency (37.2%) threaten the quality of human resources in the future. Because stunting as a measure of chronic undernutrition can interfere with child development, one of which is the development of language. The purpose of this study are to identify the characteristic of stunted children and the association between stunted and language development. The study design was a cross-sectional study. Total samples of the study were 30 children consisting of stunted and severe stunted. Almost all children were born with enough birthweight and given breastmilk. But they didn’t receive exclusive breastfeeding in the first six month and most of them are weaned before 2 years-old. The highest percentage level of education of fathers and mothers only primary school and more than half of children came from poor families. The highest percentage of children had low language development. There was no association between stunted and languange development but there was negative association between age and language development.en
