| dc.description.abstract | During the final product packaging stage, conformity between the product net weight and the company’s specification is a critical quality parameter that must be consistently controlled to prevent product overweight, which can reduce process efficiency and increase raw material consumption. This research aimed to evaluate and improve the overweight issue in extruded snack products against the company’s weight specification at PT XYZ. A sample of 100 product bundles were weighed, followed by analyses of process stability and process capability. Subsequently, Root Cause Analysis (RCA) was conducted to identify the causes of overweight issue. After corrective actions addresing both human and machine factors, including shift change briefings and modification of the packaging machine disk, were implemented, process stability improved significantly from a Cpk value od -0,63 to 0,86. These result indicate that the implemented corrective actions were effective in reducing product overweight in extruded snack products. | |
