      Abstract

The Indonesian Food and Drug Authority (BPOM) developed the Keamanan Pangan untuk Konsumen Cerdas Webinar (PK/Paman Kece Webinar) as a platform for communication, information, and education on food safety for the community. This study aimed to identify the Webinar PK theme that had the greatest influence on improving participants’ knowledge, analyze the effect of Webinar PK implementation on participants’ food safety knowledge, attitudes, and practices across different target groups, analyze the relationships between participants’ characteristics and their knowledge, attitudes, and practices, including the relationships among these variables. The first part involved the analysis of secondary data from Webinar PK pre-test and post-test results, while the second part used survey data collected from 100 respondents. The nutrition and public health theme showed the highest increase in score (18.6%). Pre-test and post-test evaluation showed significant improvements in participants’ knowledge (p = 0.000), attitudes (p = 0.013), and practices (p = 0.000) after participation in the webinar. Based on the target groups, community organizations showed the highest improvement in knowledge, professional organizations showed the highest improvement in attitudes, and educational institutions showed the highest improvement in food safety practices. Knowledge (p = 0.014) and attitudes (p = 0.000) were significantly associated with respondents’ income, while organizational background was significantly associated with knowledge (p = 0.016) and practices (p = 0.028). In addition, significant relationships (p = 0.000) were found between knowledge and attitudes, as well as between attitudes and practices, confirming that attitudes played a mediating role in the formation of food safety practices.
