      Abstract

Feed is one of the factors that affect sheep productivity. Alternative feed from food industry waste can be used as a source of protein feed. This study aims to evaluate the physiological, hematological, and blood metabolite status of male Garut sheep by providing different protein sources. The treatments used were P1 = tofu dregs, P2 = beer dregs, and P3 = green bean dregs. The results obtained showed that providing different protein sources based on dregs had a very significant effect on respiration rate and heart rate in the morning and evening, but had no significant effect on rectal temperature. Tofu dregs produced the highest respiration rate and heart rate, then green bean dregs, and beer dregs. Providing tofu dregs interfered with hemoglobin values, providing beer dregs interfered with hemoglobin and erythrocyte values, and providing green bean dregs interfered with leukocyte values. Hematocrit, creatinine, and total protein values were within normal values for all types of protein sources. Providing tofu dregs resulted in better physiological status and blood profile compared to beer dregs and green bean dregs.
