Analisis pengaruh food coping strategy terhadap ketahanan pangan rumahtangga petani di kabupaten Lebak Banten
Abstract
The general objective of this research was to analyze the influence of score of food coping strategy toward household food security. The particular objectives of this research were to: 1) Identify household food security; 2) identify the characteristics food access of sample (size of family, father’s education, father’s occupation, family’s income, education and nutritional knowledge of the mothers, and social support); 3) Identify the food coping strategy in farmer’s household; 4) Identify the person who do the food coping strategy in farmer’s household; 5) Analyze the correlation between score of food coping strategy and household food security; 6) Analyze the influence factors of household food security. The research was conducted by using cross sectional study design from April to May 2009 in Kabupaten Lebak Banten. Sample was chosen by purposive sampling resulting in 101 households. The results show that 63.4% samples in household’s level were in food secure condition and 25.7% samples were in serious food insecure condition. Half of samples (49.5%) included in the small households (with 4 members of household or less). Generally, in age, most of the paterfamilias (57.4%) were in medium adult category (40 – 59 years). The dissemination of mother’s age were in the early adult category, that is 46.5% and 47.5% of mothers were in the medium adult category. Almost of all the mother (87.1%) included in low nutritional knowledge group. Spearman Correlation Test shows that the score of coping strategy have no significant correlation with household food security and the size of household has negative significant correlation with household food security (r=-0.270; p<0.01). The number of farm areas that owned by the farmer’s households have positive significant correlation with their household food security (r=0.309; p<0.01). It means that larger farm area that owned by the farmer’s household implied the better condition of household food security. However, Pearson Correlation Test shows that consumption of energy has negative significant correlation with score of coping strategy (r=-0.208; p=<0.05). It means that the higher score of coping strategy implied little in consumption of energy. It shows the decrease of food security condition. Regretion Test shows the factors that influence the household food security, for instance, number of farm area that owned by farmer household, poverty status, size of household, score of coping strategy, and alocation of food expenditure.
