dc.description.abstractGeneral objective of this study is to analyse Community’s Food Preference and nutritional carrying capacity in the direction of food diversification achievement in Bogor Regency. The spesific objectives are (1) to analyse individual characteristic sample i.e. last education, salary per capita, expenditure per capita, (2) to identify environment characteristic i.e. number of family, job, information from mass media, and production, (3) to identify food preference, (4) to analyse the correlation between food preference with individual and environment characteristic, (5) to analyse local food’s production and preference. Design of this study was cross sectional study with cluster analysis and simple random sampling. Number of sample is 106 for two region characteristics. Data were analized by Microsoft Excel and SPSS 16.0 for Window. Food preference of Bogor Regency community shows that almost sample like to 9 food groups in Desireable Dietary Pattern. The reason of this food preference is food factor (taste, nutrition content, food processing). Local food potential in order to reach food diversification consider to food preference and production. It also an alternative way to fulfill carbohidrat, animal and plant based protein, vitamin and mineral needs. Output of Chi square dan Spearman analysis show that almost food don’t have correlation (p>0.05) with individual and environmental characteristic. Potensial local food based on food preference and production as alternative food for food diversification i.e. corn, cassava, sweet potato, taro (carbohydrate sources): fish, mung bean, tempe, tofu (protein sources); and green leaf vegetables, cow peas, banana and guava (vitamins and minerals sources). Production data shows that corn, fish, mung bean, and soybean production need to be increased its production or import from the other region, especially in West Java. This analysis need to support food preference and by itself it will also support food diversification.id
