Kolostrum dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu sumber laktoferin yang memiliki berbagai manfaat, diantaranya adalah sebagai antimikroba. Pemanfaatan kelebihan kolostrum kambing perah diharapkan mampu mengurangi masalah infeksi pencernaan bakterial oleh Escherichia coli yang sering dijumpai khususnya pada anak-anak di Indonesia.
