Produktivitas Hasil Persilangan Ayam Kedu dengan Ayam Silangan Sentul Kampung dan Resiprokalnya Umur 0 sampai 12 Minggu.
Abstract
Local chickens is Indonesian native birds that potential to be developed as commercial chicken. However local chicken has not been maintaned optimally because it has low egg production and slow growth. Therefore, local chicken’s performance need to be improved by reciprocal crossing. This study aimed to evaluate the performance productivity of crossbreed between kedu roosters with sentul-kampung hens and sentul-kampung roosters with kedu hens. The performance of 39 keduSK day old chicks (DOC) and 28 SKkedu day old chicks (DOC) were recorded at 0 until 12 weeks. Measurement were body weight, body weight gain, feed intake, feed conversion ratio and mortality. Based on t test, the result of all variables were not significantly (P> 0.05). However, the present result showed that the KeduSK chicken had heavier body weight and body weight gain than the SKkedu chicken . The feed conversion ratio and mortality of keduSK chicken was better than SKkedu chicken. Feed intake of SKkedu chicken was less than keduSK chicken. Overall, performance of both chickens were same.
