Abstract

This research aimed to explore the production and morphometry of reciprocal crossed between pelung-broiler (PB) and sentul-kampung (SK) chickens age 0-12 weeks old. Commercial starter feed was offered at the age of 0- 3 weeks, 80% commercial starter feed + 20% rice hull at the age of 4 weeks and 60% commercial starter feed + 40% rice hull at the age of 5-12 weeks. Feed was ad libitum. The research used completly randomized design (RAL). Productive traits measured were body weight, growth rate, feed intake, feed conversion and mortality. Morphometry traits measured were length of shank, back, beak, width of breast and girth of breast. Body weight, growth rate, feed intake, feed conversion, width of breast, back, beak and volume of the body were not significant. Meanwhile, length of shank and girth of breast differed. PBSK and SKPB can be developed as meat type chickens.
