dc.description.abstractThe quality of a child's development is determined by the role of family and home environment. This study aimed to analyze the effect of parental investment on children developmental achievement of 2-5 ages. Design of this research used a cross sectional study conducted of purposively selected subdistricts of Cigombong and Ciomas. The study involved samples 60 families who have young child within preschool age. Samples selected by stratified random method based on sosio economic status. The result showed the score of parental invesment on children in poor family are lower than non-poor family. The score of child development analysis outcomes in poor families are lower than that of in non-poor family. Regression analysis shows that the investment behavior to children is significant influenced by the husband’s education, family size and per capita income. Family size has a negatively effect on the wives investment behaviour. Futhermore, the wives investment behaviour has positive impact on the level of child development.en
