dc.description.abstractEchinoderm is the animal commonly seen in intertidal zone, especially coral reef ecosystem. This phylum consists of 6.000 species, all of them live in the sea. The main characteristics are spiny-skinned and radial symmetry. Echinoderms consist of five classes, Crinoideaea, Ateroidea, Ophiuroidea, Echinoidea, and Holothuroidea. The aim of this research is to find out structure and community distribution of Echinoderms in artificial coral cultivation and to study association of Echinoderms community to habitat characteristic. Belt transect modified by GPS to track used to sample Echinoderms individu. The result shows that 12 species of Echinoderms are found study area, which spread out in three research station. The highest member of Echinoderm from are dominated by Echinoidea. Diadema setosum is commonly found in each station. In general, biodiversity of Echinoderms in this area is poor. Echinoderms prefer lives in artificial coral cultivation area. It is predicted food availability and protection that is given from its habitat.en
