      Abstract
      Salah satu komponen label yang wajib dicantumkan pada produk pangan adalah komposisi. Label komposisi memberikan informasi mengenai daftar lengkap penyusun bahan pangan. Penelitian ini menggunakan disain penelitian cross sectional study yang bertujuan untuk menganalisis pengaruh karakteristik individu, karakteristik keluarga, pengetahuan dan persepsi mahasiswa terhadap niat membaca label komposisi produk pangan dengan menggunakan pendekatan Theory of Planned Behavior. Pemilihan lokasi penelitian dilakukan secara purposif dengan melibatkan 400 mahasiswa IPB yang dipilih menggunakan teknik multistage random sampling berdasarkan lapis jenis kelamin. Terdapat pengaruh persepsi, norma subjektif, dan kontrol perilaku terhadap niat membaca label komposisi. Tidak terdapat perbedaan nyata niat membaca label komposisi antara laki-laki dan perempuan.
       
      One of the important components that must be included on the label of food products is composition. The composition label provides complete information on the the list of food ingredient. This research used a design of cross sectional study to analyze the influence of individual characteristics, family characteristics, knowledge and perception students on intentions to read the label composition of food products using Theory of Planned Behavior approach. The research location was chosen purposively by involving 400 students who have been selected using multistage random sampling technique with gender as layers. The results showed perceptions, subjective norms, and behavioral control influenced significantly on reading intention of composition label. There was no significant differences of intention reading label composition between men and women.
