Aplikasi Gel Aloevera dan Gliserin sebagai Pelembab pada Produk Pembersih Tangan (Handasanitizer)
Abstract
The use of glycerin and aloevera gel as moisturizer on antiseptic handsanitizer product is expected to give different impression to the product, so the product can give longer moist impression in the skin. The aims of this research are to obtain an antiseptic handsanitizer product with the addition of glycerin and aloevera gel formulation as moisturizer materials, to know the effectiveness of the product in reducing microbial contamination on hands and shelf life of handsanitizer product. There were six moisturizing formulations. Based on hedonic test, sixth formulation was the best moisturizing formulation which consisted of 0.1% glycerin and 0.5% aloevera gel. It was characterized by pH of 5.11; viscosity of 6533 cP; density of 0.904 g/ml. Microbial test showed that the product was able to reduce microbial contamination in hand. Based on parameter of water dan ethanol content (70oC) from shelf life analysis, the product can be stored at 25oC or room temperature using aluminium foil packaging for 215 days (7.16 months).
