Kandungan Logam Berat Timbal (Pb) dan Kadmium (Cd) di Air dan Sedimen di Perairan Pelabuhan Kejawanan, Cirebon

Abstract

Pb and Cd heavy are two toxic heavy metals that can be harmful to living organisms This study is to predict sources of Pb and Cd in water and sediment, and water quality Kejawanan Fishing Port, Cirebon. Seven sediment and three water samples were colected from 10 stations in March 2014 and analyzed using AAS. Pb dan Cd concentrations in water ranged 0061-0065 mg/l and 0007-0010 mg/l, respectively, while those in sediments varied 56.35-67.11 mg/kg and <0.60 mg/kg, respectively. This result indicates that fishing port activities possibly contribute the occurence of these metals in the sea water surrounding the port. This water quality could possibly degrade due to the potential increase of Pb concentrations exceeding to those of water quality standard.
