dc.description.abstractElectrification ratioin Indonesia until 2009 reportedly reached an average of 66%, but ine astern Indonesia has not reached 45% include small islands. The condition is still felt not to find the principles of justice and equity. This study aims to desain, construct, and testing a savonius windmill type as power plants, that has a good performance in generating electricity. Constructing the windmill was through three stages, that is design, manufacture, and testing. The results showed that the prototype windmill has made a good performance. There is a positive corelation between wind velocity and voltage produced. The wind velocity beginto turn the turbines (cut-in speed) is 1.2m/s and the voltage generated is 2.666volt. The highest wind velocity record is 3.64m/s, with the voltage generated by 6.16volten
