dc.description.abstractBasic task in the family must be fulfilled by family in order to achieve the next family task. This study aimed to identify the differences of basic task fulfillment which performed by wife on dual earner family according to the type and working time allocation of wife. The sample of this study were wives who work in the public sector on dual earner family and have children up to nine-yearold which are taken by stratified random sampling as many as 160 people. Data were collected through interview using the questionnaires. The result of research showed that three-quarters of wives been able to do the basic tasks included the fulfillment of food, clothing, housing, health, and education. Basic task fulfillment which performed by wives who work in the formal sector is higher than with those who work in the informal sector. Meanwhile, according to the working time allocation, there is no differences in the basic task fulfillment between wives who work up to 8 hours/day and more than 8 hours/day.en
