dc.description.abstractThe purpose of the research was to evaluate the characteristics of carcass and non carcass of thin-tailed sheep (DET) on different live weight in TPH Maleber, West Java. Research used 56 heads of DET ewes. The sheep grouped into live weights at 10 kg, 20 kg and 30 kg. Data were analyzed by Analysis of Variance (ANOVA). The result of the research showed that the differences of live weight were significantly (P<0.01) influenced on empty body weight and carcass weight. DET that were slaughtered at 30 kg was heavier on carcass percentage compared to 20 kg. The average percentage of carcass at live weight 10 kg, 20 kg and 30 kg was 46.09%, 42.87% and 49.56% respectively. Non carcass components of DET were slaughtered at 30 kg was significant (P<0.01) heavier than live weight of 20 and 10 kg. The percentage of edible portion of non carcass was of 42%-48% of empty body weight.en
