dc.description.abstractThe OLR1 gene encodes a vascular endothelial cell-surface receptor that binds and degrades the oxidized forms of low-density lipoproteins. OLR1 gene is found to be associated with milk fat percentage. This study was aimed to identify polymorphism of the OLR1 gene in HF cattle from BBIB Singosari (25 bulls), BIB Lembang (8 bulls), and BBPTU Baturraden (121 cows). The OLR1 gene polymorphism was identified with PCR-RFLP method using PstI restriction enzyme. Genotyping the OLR1 gene resulted in three genotypes, namely AA, AC, and CC; with two alleles, namely A and C. Results on frequency analyses showed that the AC genotype had the highest frequency (0.474) than the AA genotype (0.299) and the CC genotype (0.277); with the A allele had the highest frequency (0.536) than the C allele (0.464). In all HF cattle observed, the OLR1 gene were in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium; with values of heterozigosity observation were lower than the values of heterozigosity expectation (Ho<He). The conclusion was that OLR1|PstI gene from HF cattle studied was polymorphic.en
dc.description.abstractGen OLR1 mengkode reseptor permukaan pembuluh darah yang mengikat dan mendegradasi bentuk teroksidasi dari low-density lipoprotein. Gen OLR1 diketahui berhubungan dengan persentase lemak susu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keragaman gen OLR1 pada sapi FH dari BBIB Singosari (25 pejantan), BIB Lembang (8 pejantan), dan BBPTU Baturraden (121 induk). Keragaman gen OLR1 diidentifikasi menggunakan metode PCR-RFLP dengan bantuan enzim restriksi PstI. Proses genotyping gen OLR1 menghasilkan tiga genotipe, yaitu AA, AC, dan CC; serta dua alel, yaitu A dan C. Hasil analisis frekuensi sapi FH di tiga lokasi menunjukkan bahwa genotipe AC lebih tinggi (0.474) dibandingkan dengan genotipe AA (0.299) dan genotipe CC (0.277); serta frekuensi alel A (0.536) lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan frekuensi alel C (0.464). Pada semua sapi FH pengamatan, gen OLR1 berada pada keseimbangan HardyWeinberg; serta nilai heterozigositas pengamatannya lebih rendah dari pada nilai heterozigositas harapan (Ho<He). Disimpulkan bahwa gen OLR1|Pst1 dari sapi FH pengamatan bersifat polimorfik.
