dc.description.abstract | One of agriculture waste has not yet a lot exploited as feed is cassava peel. It can be used as a source of energy substitution of spacious grass. Cassava peel have high carbohydrates content. Outer part of cassava peel has 0.5-2% of fresh weight and inner part of cassava peel has 8-15%. The aims of this study were to observe the performance of male thin tail sheep, fed with composition of Brachiaria humidicola and cassava peel. The twelve (12) male thin tail sheep under one year old with average body weight of 19.06 ± 1.46 kg (CV = 7.66%) were used in this study. The treatments of the experiment were P0 (100% Brachiaria humidicola + 0% cassava peel), P1 (80% Brachiaria humidicola + 20% cassava peel), P2 (60% Brachiaria humidicola + 40% cassava peel) and P3 (40% Brachiaria humidicola + 60% cassava peel). The experimental design was randomized complete design and the data analyzed by analysis of variance (ANOVA). Tukey’s test was used to analyzed the differences between treatments. Variables observed were feed consumption, nutrient consumption, daily body weight gain, feed conversion, and income over feed cost. The results show that the experimental treatment did not have a significant effects (P>0,05) on dry matter and proteins consumption but significantly (P<0,05) affected daily body weight gain and feed conversion then a very significant effects (P<0,01) on fiber consumption and Total Digestible Nutrient consumption. The highest profit was found in treatment P2. It concluded that cassava peel is able to be utilized as combination with Brachiaria humidicola up to 40% in ration ransom for sheep. | en |
dc.description.abstract | Salah satu limbah pertanian yang belum banyak dimanfaatkan sebagai bahan pakan ternak adalah kulit singkong yang dapat dijadikan sebagai bahan pakan sumber energi pengganti rumput. Kulit singkong memiliki kandungan karbohidrat tinggi yang dapat digunakan sebagai sumber energi bagi ternak. Persentase jumlah limbah kulit bagian luar sebesar 0,5-2% dari berat total singkong segar dan limbah kulit bagian dalam sebesar 8-15%. Penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh substitusi kulit singkong pada level yang berbeda selama penggemukan telah dilakukan pada tanggal 2 Maret sampai 3 Mei 2009, di Laboratorium Lapang bagian Ruminansia Kecil, Fakultas Peternakan, Institut Pertanian Bogor. | IND |
