The study was aimed to examine the performance of local cattle and buffalo fattened in feedlot which using ration suplemented by protected Lemuru fish oil in the form of dried carboxylate salt mixture (DCM). Eight onggole grade cattle and six local swamp buffalo were used in this study. They were assigned to 2x2 factorial model with two level animal class (cattle and buffalo) and two level ration (suplemened and non suplemened ration with dried carboxylate salt). The results of this study showed that the feed consumption, nutrient intake, and daily gain were not affected by the interaction between animal class and ration. The feed consumption, nutrient intake, and daily gain of the buffaloes had significantly higher (P<0,05) than Peranakan Ongole cattle. However, the feed convertion and income over feed cost were not influenced by animal class and ration or their interaction effects. It was concluded that at similar maturity the local buffalo performed better than local cattle (PO) when fattened in feedlot.en
