dc.description.abstractOver the last decade a major change has stricken pulp and paper industry. Increasing demand, more selective raw materials acquisition, and more competitive environment of the industry are three leading dimension that fill the change. In such condition, all actors involved in pulp and paper industry are required to pay more attention in their functions and activities to run effectively and efficiently. Supply chain management (SCM) is an approach through which such this objective can be achieved. In SCM perspective, inter-parties integration becomes a necessity to deal with any conflicting objective between different functions. In line with this, a good relationship with suppliers could ultimately improve competitiveness of the entire supply chain. Selecting right suppliers is the first strategic decision that determines the success in implementation of SCM. It plays a key role in any organization because it significantly reduces the unit price and improves corporate competitiveness. Furthermore, emphasis on quality and delivery, beside of cost consideration, in today’s globally competitive market adds the complexity of supplier selection decision.en
