Model of Energy Independent Village based on micro hydro has been implemented in Kampung Lebakpicung, Hegarmanah, Cibeber, Lebak, Banten Province. This area located directly adjacent to the National Park area of Halimun Salak Mountain. Three main issues have been proposed in the development of energy independent village based on micro hydro namely providing the electricity for local community, developing economic productive using the idle electricity as well as coserving the forest area near village through reforestration. All of three issues have been running well since 2 years ago and this program was strongly supported by local community. Institution based on the local community initiative has also been developed to take responsibility on the sustainability of micro hydro project. This institution has responsibility to run the operational of the micro hydro and to develop the utilization of idle electricity during day time for productive economic activity for local community. The objectives of this study were: 1) to analyze cost of electricity produced by micro hydro. The cost analysis includes kW of electricity could be generated and the price per kW which was based on the operational cost and maintenance cost, 2). to determine the energy cost must be spent by households before and after micro hydro project. Maintenance and operational cost was analyzed in order to consider the cost must be paid by each household. The study was focused on the collection of data i.e. social economic, potency of electricity, technical data of micro hydro. It was found that the potency of micro hydro power plant was 25-74 kW. The cost of electricity from micro hydro power plant was Rp 1.015/kWh. This price was higher than that price of electricity supplied by National Electricity Company with subsidy scheme of 450 Watt, i.e Rp. 415/kWh. The price of electricity that paid by the community was Rp. 239/kWh. If it was assumed that initial cost for installation of micro hydro power plant was under scheme of grant through CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) of Natioanal Electriocity Company (PT PLN), it was resulted the (nett present value) NPV was Rp. 16.578.189,- at year of 20, payback period at year between 15 to 16. Net B/C was 1,1 and Gross B/C was 1,07 with IRR at 11 percent. BEP of electricity produced by micro hydro power plant was 162.744 kW/year. Utilization of the idle electricity produced by micro hydro power plant at Kampung Lebakpicung during day time could be considered by installing the small scale coffee processing unit.en
