Abstract

Spring roll wrapper is tlte slice for wrapping the spring roll pastry. It is made from wheat flour, eggs, vegetable oil, and salt. Spring roll wrapper is not a ready-made food because it needs to be processed with other materials, such as vegetables and meat so that it becomes a processed food material which is called spring roll pastry which can be consumed. Siomay is a processed food material. It is made from siomay wrapper, meat, garlic, onions, vegetable oil, salt, and sugar. The common problem on the processed food materials like spring roll wrapper and siomay is their short shelf life because of their relatively high water content. Good packaging which concerns with the characteristics of tlte product is one solution amongst the others to extend the shelf life and protect the product from spoilage and contamination.
