dc.description.abstractTo day, egg is one of the primary consumption, because its price is relative low and as sources of protein. Prosperity of the people could be seen from the supply of nutrient. It is related with consumption and income. This research was held in Kandis Sub District, Siak District , Riau on September 1th 2th 2007. There were 60 housewives in Kandis Sub Diaict as respondents. The accidental sampling is used to pick the respondents. The result shows that cross elasticity of egg consumption was 17,8. There are three significant factors to egg consumptions in Kandis Sub District, they are price's egg of buras chicken, total of family member and taste. Total of egg consumption by holsehold consumer is 10,33 Kg/capita/year . The people in Kandis consume egg as protein source.en
