dc.description.abstractPT. Capsugel Indonesia ( PTC) is a pharmacy industry with producing empty capsule with gelatine base. Gelatine residu contaminated to effluent of wastewater caused by organic compound and macro nutrient of nitrogen and phosphorus which could decrease to dissolve oxygen and increase to eutrofication process. The objective of this research are to characterize effluent from biological treatment, and to eliminate ortophosphate compound using precipitant doses and initial pH condition. The research conducted by characterization of sample of effluent from biological treatment, determination of range doses of three precipitant type (alum, ferric chloride, and ferro sulphate) and removing of ortophosphate using precipitants doses and initial of pH condition. At preliminary research, the result indicated that doses of alum ranged from 10 - 90 mg/l at level doses of 40, 50 and 60 mg/l, the ferri chloride doses ranged from 10 - 120 mg/l at level doses of 40, 50 and 60 mg/l, and the ferro sulphate ranged from 10 - 90 mg/l at level doses of 40, 50 and 60 mg/l. These ranged doses of each precipitant were selected, because having the smallest value of ortophosphate concentration.en
