dc.description.abstractThis species of cockroach (Gromphador;lzi/za portentosa) is known as the madagascar hissing cockroach. This species is negatively photo tactic (moves away from light) and therefore, is nocturnal in activity. This experiment aimed to get information about the influence of addition of darkness period (0, 3, 6 and 9 hours) on growth, feed consumption, body weight, weight gain, feed conversion and mortality of madagascar cockroach. This experiment was done for two months, from July up to September 2005, at Non Ruminant and Prospective Animal Division, Department of Animal Science and Technology, Faculty of Animal Science, Bogor Agricultural University.en
