      Abstract
Ocimum basilicum is one of the vegetables which has a drug effect. The chemical composition are quite complete and profitable for body health, such as boron and stigmasterol which can influence activity of reproduction hormones. This research aimed to study growth pattern of mice from post weaning up to adult, which were given various levels dry Ocimum basilicum in their feed. This research had been done for two months, since middle of July until the first week of September 2005. The materials were 30 heads of males and 60 heads of females as parents, with 150 heads of males and 136 heads of females of a post weaning age kids. Feed were given at 15.00-17.00 WIB. The Observation variables were weaning weight 42 days body weight, body weight gain, feed consumption and feed conversion. The research used Completely Randomized Design with nested pattern 2x3 and Tukey test. The result showed that 5,0% dry Ocimum basilicum supplementation had a higher level of weaning weight, body weight gain, weight at 42 days old and feed consumption than 0 and 2,5%. Supplementation of 2,5% dry Ocimum basilicum had a higher level of feed conversion then 0 and 5,0%. Male mice has a higher level of weaning weight (at 5,0%), body weight gain at 30 and 36 days, weight at 42 days old, and consumption on 0 and 2,5% at third week and 5,0% at second week than females. Feed consumption and conversion did not influence by level of treatments.
