Work-life balance is a key challenge for employees assigned to remote areas and may influence Employee engagement and intention to stay. This study analyzes the effect of work-life balance on intention to stay with Employee engagement as a mediating variabel among remote-area employees of PT XYZ. Data were collected from 266 respondents using purposive sampling and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling-Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS) with SmartPLS. The results indicate that work-life balance has a significant positive effect on Employee engagement and intention to stay. Employee engagement also has a significant positive effect on intention to stay and partially mediates the relationship between work-life balance and intention to stay. The Importance-Performance Map Analysis identified the ability to work effectively while away from family as the main priority for improvement to support employee retention.
