| dc.description.abstract | As the world’s largest coconut producer, Indonesia is well-positioned to drive the development of coconut-based products, such as desiccated coconut, which holds significant potential in international markets. As an exporting nation, Indonesia’s desiccated coconut exports still exhibit uneven market diversification. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing Indonesia’s exports of desiccated coconut (HS 080111) to its major destination countries. The panel data used consists of cross-sectional data covering Singapore, Russia, Germany, Brazil, and the Netherlands, as well as time-series data for the period 2015–2024. The analysis employs a gravity model with export prices, exchange rates, Indonesia’s GDP, destination countries’ GDP, population, and economic distance as independent variables. The results of the panel data regression indicate that export prices, Indonesia’s GDP, and economic distance have a significant positive effect on exports, whereas exchange rates, destination countries’ GDP, and population do not show a statistically significant effect. These findings suggest that trade dynamics for each product are not always the same. This is due to differences in the characteristics of the destination markets and the exported products. | |
