Bandotan leaves contain bioactive compounds such as flavonoids, alkaloids, and saponins that function as natural antioxidants and antimicrobials, thereby having the potential to improve reproductive performance and hatchability traits. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of bandotan leaf extract supplementation on 34-week-old male quails on egg fertility, hatchability, and hatch weight of Japanese quail (Coturnix coturnix japonica) at 34 weeks of age. This study was conducted to compare two levels, namely P1 (3% bandotan leaf extract) and P2 (4.5% bandotan leaf extract), with three replicates for each treatment. The data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results showed that supplementation with bandotan leaf extract improved the reproductive performance of quails, with treatment P1 (3%) producing higher fertility and hatchability. Overall, supplementation of bandotan leaf extract at a concentration of 3% was the most effective treatment for improving fertility and hatchability, which indicates its potential as a natural phytobiotic in quail production.
