      Abstract
Implementasi perbaikan berhasil menurunkan proporsi cacat sehingga meningkatkan efektivitas pengendalian mutu proses pengemasan.

Defects in carton packaging can increase product rejects and reduce production efficiency, highlighting the need for effective quality control. This study aimed to analyze the types of carton packaging defects, identify the dominant defect, evaluate process performance, develop corrective actions, and assess their implementation at PT XYZ. The study employed the Statistical Quality Control (SQC) method using a check sheet, P-chart, Pareto chart, fishbone diagram, 5 Why analysis, the 5W+1H approach, and statistical testing. The results identified seven types of carton packaging defects, with unformed cartons being the most dominant defect, accounting for 50.05% of the total defects. The packaging process was not statistically under control. The main root causes were leakage of the suction cup piston and the absence of a One Point Lesson (OPL) for vacuum rubber replacement. The implementation of corrective actions successfully reduced the defect proportion, thereby improving the effectiveness of quality control in the packaging process.
