      Abstract

Tenebrio molitor is an insect that has been extensively studied as a biodegradation agent for synthetic polymers. The use of synthetic polymers continues to increase. This study specifically uses these insects at the end of their life cycle (instars 12 – 14) as a solution for post-peak productivity utilization with high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and expanded polystyrene (EPS) feed media. The objective of this study is to analyze their morphometric characteristics and mortality rates. The morphometric parameters include body weight, width, and length, as well as head width and mortality rates. A completely randomized design (CRD) was used, with data analyzed via one-way ANOVA and post hoc tests. The results showed that the feed medium had a significant effect on the morphometric changes and mortality of Tenebrio molitor. The HDPE feed medium yielded the worst results for all morphometric variables, although it recorded the lowest mortality rate.
