| dc.description.abstract | Produksi Crude Palm Oil (CPO) yang tinggi di Indonesia membuka peluang peningkatan nilai tambah melalui pemanfaatan ß-karoten, namun implementasi ekstraksi menggunakan Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NADES) masih terbatas pada skala laboratorium. Penelitian ini bertujuan merancang proses produksi ekstrak ß-karoten dari CPO skala pilot berkapasitas umpan 10 kg CPO per batch, menentukan spesifikasi peralatan, serta menghitung harga pokok produksi. Perancangan dilakukan melalui pendekatan scale-up berbasis data sekunder dengan menyusun neraca massa, menentukan spesifikasi peralatan, dan analisis aspek ekonomi menggunakan metode full costing. Proses yang dirancang meliputi pembuatan NADES, ekstraksi ß-karoten, ekstraksi ulang, separasi menggunakan disc stack centrifuge, dan evaporasi menggunakan vertical tube forced circulation evaporator. Hasil perancangan menunjukkan recovery ß-karoten sebesar 87,6% dengan kapasitas produksi 4,5 kg ekstrak per bulan. Kebutuhan luas bangunan dan lahan masing-masing sebesar 33,90 m² dan 48,43 m², dengan estimasi investasi awal Rp879.309.373,10. Harga pokok produksi sebesar Rp118.113,42/g dan harga jual sebesar Rp129.924,77/g. Hasil penelitian ini menjadi acuan teknis dan ekonomis untuk pengembangan produksi ekstrak ß-karoten berbasis NADES dari skala pilot ke skala yang lebih besar. | |
| dc.description.abstract | Indonesia's high crude palm oil (CPO) production offers an opportunity to increase its value through ß-carotene utilization. However, ß-carotene extraction using Natural Deep Eutectic Solvents (NADES) is still limited to the laboratory scale. This study aimed to design a pilot-scale ß-carotene extract production process from CPO with a feed capacity of 10 kg CPO per batch, determine the equipment specifications, and estimate the production cost. The process was designed using a scale-up approach based on secondary data through mass balance development, equipment specification, and economic analysis using the full costing method. The proposed process consisted of NADES preparation, ß-carotene extraction, re-extraction, separation using a disc stack centrifuge, and evaporation using a vertical tube forced circulation evaporator. The design achieved a ß-carotene recovery of 87,6% and a production capacity 4,5 kg of extract per month. The required building and land areas were 33,90 m² and 48,43 m², respectively, with an estimated initial investment of IDR 879.309.373,10. The production cost and recommended selling price were estimated at IDR Rp118.113,42/g and IDR 129.924,77/g, respectively. This study provides a technical and economic reference for scaling up NADES-based ß-carotene extract production. | |
