The Islamic stock market was a Sharia-compliant investment alternative, with investment risk reflected in return volatility. This return volatility was influenced by various systematic factors, including global economic conditions and domestic macroeconomic conditions. This study analyzed the effects of the Global Economic Policy Uncertainty (GEPU) index, world oil prices, the rupiah exchange rate, and inflation on the return volatility of the Indonesia Sharia Stock Index (ISSI) over the period from January 2017 to November 2025. The study applied the ARCH/GARCH model to estimate return volatility and the ARDL model to examine both short-run and long-run relationships. The results showed that GEPU and world oil prices had significant negative effects on ISSI return volatility in the short run, whereas the rupiah exchange rate had a significant positive effect. GEPU had a significant positive effect on ISSI return volatility in the long run, whereas world oil prices had a significant negative effect. Inflation had no significant effect on ISSI return volatility in either the short run or the long run.
