      Abstract

Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) nursery operations face water quality issues due to the accumulation of organic waste, which can reduce production performance and business efficiency. The objective of this study was to analyze the production performance and profitability of Nile tilapia nursery operations using different water management systems, namely recirculation (RA), bioremediation (BR), and water exchange (GA). The study was conducted over 42 days using a completely randomized design with three treatments and three replicates. The results showed that the RA system produced a higher survival rate of 79.58%, the highest growth in length and weight, a low feed conversion ratio, as well as greater size uniformity and lower stress levels. Water quality across all treatments remained within acceptable ranges, but the RA system demonstrated greater stability. This study demonstrates that the RA system is an effective water management system for tilapia nursery operations, yielding an annual profit of Rp89.757.873, a productivity rate of 93.52 fish L ?¹ year?¹, an R/C ratio of 1.52, and a payback period of 0.88 years.
