dc.description.abstractSapi Bali merupakan plasma nutfah asli Indonesia yang adaptif terhadap lingkungan tropis dan berpotensi sebagai sapi tipe pedaging. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi tipe tubuh sapi Bali jantan serta persilangannya dengan limousin dan simental berdasarkan indeks morfometrik. Sebanyak 31 ekor sapi jantan digunakan, terdiri atas 17 ekos sapi Bali, 8 ekor silangan Bali dan Limousin, serta 6 ekor silangan Bali dan Simmental, dengan enam parameter morfometrik yaitu tinggi pundak (TP), panjang badan (PB), dalam dada (DD), lebar dada (LD), tinggi hips (Thips), dan lebar hips (Lhips). Data dianalisis menggunakan Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) dengan uji lanjut Tukey untuk membandingkan jenis sapi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan persilangannya sapi Bali dengan limousin dan simental memiliki nilai tinggi pundak, panjang badan, lebar dada, tinggi hips, dan lebar hips yang lebih tinggi, tetapi lebih rendah pada dalam dada dibandingkan sapi Bali (P < 0,05). Indeks morfometrik pada sapi silangan memiliki indeks panjang, lebar kemiringan, dan panjang kaki depan yang lebih tinggi, serta indeks kedalaman yang lebih rendah (P < 0,05). Secara keseluruhan, sapi Bali dan kedua silangannya memenuhi kriteria sebagai sapi tipe pedaging.
dc.description.abstractBali cattle are a native Indonesian breed well-adapted to tropical environments, making it necessary to study their morphometric characteristics to assess their potential as beef cattle. This study aimed to evaluate the morphometric body indices of male Bali cattle and their crosses with Limousin and Simmental cattle. A total of 31 male cattle were used, consisting of 17 Bali, 8 Bali-Limousin crossbreeds, and 6 Bali-Simmental crossbreeds, involving six morphometric parameters: shoulder height (SH), body length (BL), chest depth (CD), chest width (CW), hip height (HH), and hip width (HW). Data were analyzed using Analysis of Covariance (ANCOVA) with Tukey’s post-hoc test to compare cattle breeds. The results showed that the crossbreeds had higher values for shoulder height, body length, chest width, hip height, and hip width, but lower chest depth than purebred Bali cattle (P < 0.05). Additionally, the crossbreeds exhibited higher length, slope, and foreleg length indices, except for a lower depth index compared to Bali cattle (P < 0.05). Bali cattle and their crossbreeds exhibited morphometric indices characteristic of beef-type cattle.
