dc.description.abstractInformasi mengenai produksi karkas, respon fisiologis, dan tingkah laku kelinci lokal selama pemotongan masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis produksi karkas dan respon fisiologis pada bobot potong berbeda, membandingkan respon fisiologis kelinci jantan dan betina, serta mendeskripsikan tingkah laku selama pemotongan. Penelitian dilaksanakan pada Maret – April 2026 di Kagoda Rabbit Farm menggunakan kelinci lokal sebanyak 33 jantan dan 8 betina. Kelinci jantan dikelompokkan ke dalam empat kategori bobot potong. Peubah yang diamati meliputi bobot dan persentase karkas, bobot dan persentase darah, waktu henti respon kelopak mata, darah memancar, denyut nadi, suhu tubuh, serta tingkah laku. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis ragam, uji Duncan, uji t, dan analisis deskriptif etogram. Bobot potong berpengaruh nyata (P < 0,05) terhadap bobot karkas dan darah, tetapi tidak terhadap persentasenya maupun respon fisiologis jantan. Kelinci betina menunjukkan respon fisiologis lebih lama dibandingkan jantan (P < 0,05), sedangkan perilaku dominan pada kedua jenis kelamin adalah diam membeku.
dc.description.abstractInformation on carcass production, physiological responses, and behavior of local rabbits during slaughter remains limited. This study evaluated carcass production and physiological responses at different slaughter weights, compared responses between sexes, and described slaughter behavior. The study was conducted from March to April 2026 at Kagoda Rabbit Farm using 33 male and 8 female local rabbits. Male rabbits were divided into four slaughter-weight groups. Variables included carcass and blood weights and percentages, cessation times of eyelid response, blood spurting and pulse, body temperature, and behavior. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance, Duncan’s test, an independent t-test, and descriptive ethogram analysis. Slaughter weight significantly affected carcass and blood weights (P < 0.05), but not their percentages or physiological responses in males. Females showed longer physiological responses than males (P < 0.05). Freezing was the predominant behavior observed in both sexes during slaughter.
