Kemitraan dapat meningkatkan profitabilitas, produktivitas tenaga kerja, serta produktivitas gabah. Namun, dampak kemitraan pada aspek sosial dan lingkungan belum signifikan pada seluruh indikator.
Ngawi Regency is one of the rice production centres in East Java. However, rice farmers face various challenges, including limited access to markets and capital, low bargaining power, and land degradation. Contract farming systems considered to have the potential to support farmers in overcoming these challenges. This study aimed to analyse the impact of contract farming on the sustainability of rice farming. The study conducted in Ngawi Regency using 150 farmers selected through multistage sampling. Sustainability was measured using Sustainable Rice Platform (SRP) indicators, while data were analysed using Propensity Score Matching (PSM). The results showed that partnerships positively affected the economic sustainability of rice farming by increasing profitability, labour productivity, and rice productivity. However, the impact on social and environmental aspects is not significant across all indicators.
