Hair whorl are spiral patterns of hair on horses that have the potential to be used as morphological markers for individual identification. This study aimed to analyze variations in hair whorl patterns in horses at Aragon Stable based on number, position, and orientation, as well as to assess phenotypic similarity between parents and their offspring as a basis for supporting horse certification in Indonesia. The study was conducted at Aragon Stable, Cianjur, using 34 horses from 14 families consisting of stallions, mares, and foals, of the Thoroughbred, KPI, G4, and G5 breeds. Data were collected through direct observation and then analyzed descriptively based on the concordance of hair whorl number and orientation between parents and offspring. The results showed a 75,31%. concordance in the number of hair whorl, with the highest concordance observed on the central part of the head and the hind legs. Orientation concordance was 48,03%, indicating a relatively high variation in the direction of the whorl. Hair whorl have the potential to serve as supporting markers for horse identification and certification through a multi-characteristic approach.
