dc.description.abstractAyam IPB D2 merupakan ayam lokal hasil seleksi yang memiliki potensi pertumbuhan dan respons imun yang baik terhadap virus Newcastle Disease (ND). Penelitian mengenai pemberian jamu telah banyak dilakukan pada ayam broiler, namun informasi pada ayam IPB D2 masih terbatas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengevaluasi pengaruh suplementasi jamu herbal dalam air minu m terhadap performa pertumbuhan, karkas, dan nonkarkas ayam IPB D2 jantan. Sebanyak 100 ekor ayam IPB D2 jantan dibagi ke dalam dua perlakuan, yaitu kontrol dan pemberian jamu herbal, masing masing terdiri atas lima ulangan dengan sepuluh ekor per ulangan. Jamu yang terdiri atas kunyit, jahe, bawang putih, daun singkong, dan daun pepaya diberikan melalui air minum dengan dosis 12,5 g L?¹ pada umur 4-12 minggu. Parameter yang diamati meliputi performa pertumbuhan, karkas, komponen nonkarkas, organ internal, dan organ imunitas. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji t sampel independen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa suplementasi jamu herbal tidak berpengaruh nyata (p > 0,05) terhadap seluruh parameter yang diamati. Pemberian jamu herbal dosis 12,5 g L?¹ belum mampu meningkatkan performa pertumbuhan, karkas, dan nonkarkas ayam IPB D2 jantan.
dc.description.abstractIPB D2 chickens are a selected local breed with good growth potential and immune responses against Newcastle Disease (ND) virus. Studies on herbal supplementation have been widely conducted in broiler chickens, but information on IPB D2 chickens remains limited. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of herbal supplementation in drinking water on the growth performance, carcass, and non-carcass characteristics of male IPB D2 chickens. A total of 100 male chickens were assigned to two treatments: a control group and a herbal supplemented group, each with five replicates of ten birds. The herbal mixture consisted of turmeric, ginger, garlic, cassava leaves, and papaya leaves and was administered at 12.5 g L?¹ from 4 to 12 weeks of age. Growth performance, carcass traits, non-carcass components, internal organs, and immune organs were evaluated. Data were analyzed using an independent samples t-test. Herbal supplementation had no significant effect (p > 0.05) on any observed parameter. It was concluded that supplementation at 12.5 g L?¹ did not improve the performance or carcass characteristics of male IPB D2 chickens.
