      Implementasi Metode DMAIC dalam Peningkatan Kualitas Hasil Pengujian Sanitasi Udara di Laboratorium Mikrobiologi PT XYZ

      Abstract
      ISO/IEC 17025 merupakan standar internasional yang menetapkan persyaratan umum untuk kompetensi laboratorium pengujian dan kalibrasi, termasuk aspek fasilitas dan kondisi lingkungan seperti kualitas udara. Laboratorium Mikrobiologi PT XYZ mengalami ketidaksesuaian hasil pengujian sanitasi udara yang berpotensi memengaruhi keandalan analisis mikrobiologi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi penyebab ketidaksesuaian tersebut dan menerapkan tindakan perbaikan dengan pendekatan DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ketidaksesuaian disebabkan oleh faktor material (media uji tidak sesuai SNI 9099:2024 dan kontaminasi alkohol 70%), metode (belum mengacu pada standar terbaru), serta lingkungan (kebersihan laboratorium kurang optimal). Tindakan perbaikan meliputi pembaruan prosedur uji, pembersihan rutin, pengoptimalan penggunaan air purifier, dan perbaikan struktur fisik laboratorium. Hasil dari tindakan perbaikan tersebut yaitu nilai sigma meningkat dari 2,63 menjadi 2,67, hal ini menunjukkan adanya perbaikan meskipun belum signifikan. Peningkatan kualitas proses ini perlu terus dilanjutkan, terutama melalui pemantauan jangka panjang untuk mengevaluasi efektivitas perbaikan secara menyeluruh.
       
      ISO/IEC 17025 outlines general requirements for the competence of testing and calibration laboratories, including environmental conditions such as air quality. PT XYZ Microbiology Laboratory experienced discrepancies in air sanitation test results, potentially affecting analysis reliability. This study aims to identify the root causes and implement corrective actions using the DMAIC (Define, Measure, Analyze, Improve, Control) approach. The nonconformities were caused by material factors (test media not in accordance with SNI 9099:2024 and 70% alcohol contamination), methods (not aligned with the latest standards), and environmental factors (suboptimal laboratory hygiene). Corrective actions included updating procedures, routine cleaning, optimizing air purifiers, and improving the lab’s physical structure. As a result, the sigma value increased from 2,63 to 2,67, indicating some improvement, though not yet significant. Continuous quality improvement and long-term monitoring are needed to ensure lasting effectiveness.
