dc.description.abstractPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi pengaruh pemberian jenis pakan berbeda terhadap produksi susu dan pertambahan bobot badan induk domba Garut betina pasca beranak. Penelitian dilakukan selama satu bulan di Desa Ciaruteun Ilir, Kabupaten Bogor, menggunakan 9 ekor induk domba Garut yang melahirkan 12 ekor anak. Perlakuan terdiri atas P0 (10% hijauan Brachiaria humidicola), P1 (10% hijauan +3% konsentrat), dan P2 (10% hijauan +3% kulit kacang kedelai) dari bobot badan induk. Parameter yang diamati meliputi konsumsi pakan, produksi susu, pertambahan bobot badan induk dan anak domba, serta nilai Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan pakan berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan bobot badan induk dan anak (P<0,05), namun tidak berpengaruh nyata terhadap produksi susu (P>0,05). Perlakuan P2 memberikan hasil terbaik dengan PBBH induk sebesar 140 g hari-1 dan produksi susu rata-rata 883,55 g hari-1, serta IOFC tertinggi sebesar Rp2.550 hari-1. Pemberian kulit kacang kedelai terbukti efektif meningkatkan performa dan efisiensi ekonomi induk domba Garut pasca beranak.
dc.description.abstractThis study aimed to evaluate the effect of different feed types on milk production and body weight gain of postpartum Garut ewes. Total nine Garut ewes that gave birth to twelve lambs wers used for the trial. The treatments consisted of three feeding groups: P0 (10% Brachiaria humidicola forage), P1 (10% forage + 3% commercial concentrate), and P2 (10% forage + 3% soybean hulls), based on the body weight of the ewes. Observed parameters included feed intake, milk production, average daily gain (ADG) of ewes and lambs, and Income Over Feed Cost (IOFC). The results showed that different feed treatments had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain of both ewes and lambs, but no significant effect on milk production. The P2 treatment resulted in the highest performance, with an ewe ADG of 140 g/day, milk production of 883.55 g/day, and the highest IOFC value of Rp2,550/day. These findings indicate that soybean hulls can be used as an effective and economical feed alternative to improve the productivity of Garut ewes during the postpartum period.
