Nilai income over feed cost (IOFC) tertinggi diperoleh pada perlakuan P0 (kontrol).
The increasing demand for animal protein in Indonesia encourage the development of quail farming (Coturnix-coturnix japonica), which has high egg productivity and easy to maintain. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of adding red ginger (Zingiber officinale var. Rubrum) powder to the feed on quail performance, considering its essential oil content, which had the potential to improve protein digestibility and egg productivity. This research was conducted for 10 weeks with four treatments and five replications. The treatments consisted of P0 (control), P1 (0.5% red ginger powder), P2 (0.75% red ginger powder), and P3 (1% red ginger powder). The observed variables included egg production, egg mass, feed consumption, feed conversion, mortality, and IOFC. Data were analyzed using analysis of variance (ANOVA). The results showed that the addition of red ginger powder had a significant effect (P<0.05) on feed comsumption, egg production, egg mass, and feed conversion. The highest income over feed cost (IOFC) value was obtained in P0 (control).
